IMPACT

In order to make an impact, awareness must involve a blend of direct support for families and broader advocacy for research and funding.

awareness
BH2U strives to start the conversation.
Childhood Cancer is not rare. It does not discriminate.
Childhood research is underfunded. Only 4% of federal cancer research funding is allocated specifically to childhood cancers.
Childhood cancer treatments are potent, out of date, and cause secondary cancers. and long term side effects.
BH2U initiates connection and community.
Words of a Warrior blankets can be requested by newly diagnosed families. From the beginning, BH2U becomes a friend and resource. Over thirty blankets and brochures are mailed annually.

advocacy
BH2U continues the conversation to advocate for change.
Directly supporting families with small gestures like BH2U Hope Bags that have significant impact during treatments.
Partnering and advocating with nonprofit organizations like Alex's Lemonade Stand allows direct donations to childhood cancer specific research which is critically important.
Using our voice and encouraging others to influence lawmakers to prioritize pediatric cancer research for less toxic treatments. Encouraging blood and platelets donations for lifesaving actions during aggressive treatments.
Go Gold in September to increase visibility in the community and beyond.
BH2U turns the town GOLD
Rise Up & Raise Awareness. From yellow ribbons in neighborhoods, to Awareness Athletic events, participating with other nonprofit initiatives, connecting with representatives such as Govenor Dewine, and supporting CureFest in Washington DC,
we bear hope and GO GOLD every year.

Assistance
BH2U's is founded on assisting families impacted by childhood cancer.
Although BH2U does not provide monetary support, we do provide over 100 Hope Bags annually to children inpatient or in need of hope. Hope Boxes are mailed to those registered in our AYA online monthly community, and we host four in person activities for AYA connection and conversations. See our calendar to sign up or volunteer.
BH2U sends and delivers hope.
Each year, over 100 children are directly impacted by receiving a hope Bag while undergoing treatments for cancer. Each Hope bag given to a child is the result of monetary donations, gifts in kind, and organizations supporting our mision.
Each hope bag contains an assortment of comfort items, boredom busters, games, crafts and fun.
aya
